Importance of Slow Change

One of the unique challenges for this website as it evolved over time was the speed of UI related changes.

The main goal of the project was to provide the client with a site they could update without knowing a lot of HTML code.

Many of the chapter's members accessed the site via older browsers. Careful testing for browser support was necessary with each update to the UI. Interface changes were extensively field tested to ensure the site remained enjoyable to use.

When the chapter decided to accept payments online, I enjoyed developing an online electronic payment system. To encourage trust amongst members to pay online, the initial design planning focused on the aspects of payment systems that were critical for their acceptance.

This project sparked my interest in designing electronic payment systems. Many of the lessons I learned on this first project still resonate in the design guidelines I follow today.
